Owané the girl who crossed the river
Jaime Alejandre was born in in La Huelgas (Burgos). He is a prologue writer, a literary critic (currently for El Norte de Castilla) and a columnist,a dn his work has been Publisher in twenty-odd anthologies. He as edited the poetry anthology Poetas Hazversos 2010.
He is editor of the poetry collection 8++, Hazversidades poéticas and co-editor of the collection of travel writing El Periscopio-Ediciones Evohé.
He has been translated into Arabic and German.
He has published the novels Fugu (Ayuda a la Creación Literaria prize 1988 from the Ministerio de Cultura), Donde sea lejos and Hacia las sombras shortlisted for the Nadal prize, 2008); the short story collections El Alfabeto Matemático (International prize for fiction, Sociedad Internacional de Amigos de la Literatura 2000), Manual de Historia Prescindible, Bulevares (Accésit IV Alberto Lista de Narraciones Breves prize, 1996), El rencor and De entre las ruinas.
He has also published poetry: Espectador de mí (special prize at the 1986 Concurso Internacional Jorge Manrique), Palabras en desuso, Los Héroes Fatales, Autorretrato Póstumo (International prize for poetry, Sociedad Internacional de Amigos de la Literatura, 2000), Los guerreros de terracota (second prize International Laureá Mela, 2003) and Derrota de regreso.
As a playwright he has published Patera-Tierra and Casa con jardín
