The fast woman
Imma Monsó published her first novel in 1996, to great acclaim from both critics and the public. The Spanish version Nunca se sabe, won the Premio Tigre Juan in 1997. Her second work, Com unes vacances, won the Premio Prudenci Bertrana and the Premio Cavall Verd in 1998, and was chosen as the best novel of 1998 by the Catalan Writers' Association. Her third novel, Tot un caracter (2001), consolidated her reputation as an author. She has published the collection of short stories Millor Que No M'ho expliquis (Premio Ciutat de Barcelona 2003) and Marxem, papá. Aquí no ens hi volen (2004). In 2006 she published Un home de paraula, an extraordinary work which won the Premio Salambó for novels.
