The Music of the Classics: Versions of ancient poetry from the Middle Ages to the Late Renaissance
Jorge Bergua Cavero (Zaragoza, 1965) has a PhD from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and teaches Greek Philology in the University of Malaga. He had a scholarship from the Residencia de Estudiantes from 1990 to 1993 and has been a guest researcher at the University of Michigan in Ann Abor and the Spanish School of History and Archaeology in Rome (CSIC) among others. His interests are centered around the Classic tradition, and the survival of the legacy of the antique world, in terms of literature, music, thought and language. He also has wide experience as a translator from Classical Greek, French and German.
