Juan Muñoz Ramos was president and founder of the Asociación Catalana de Sumillers (1989-2001), and is co-founder and president of the Unión de Asociaciones Españoles de Sumilleres (UAES), director of the Comisión Didáctica of the Asociación de Sumillería Internacional (ASI), professor and coordinator of specialist sommelier courses at the Escuela Superior de Hostelería in Barcelona and at the Escuela Superior de Turismo CETT in Catalonia, as well as a member of national and international wine tasting panels, and a juror for many sommelier competitions.
