Jorge Zepeda Patterson, economist and sociologist, has a Master's degree from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences and did doctoral studies in Political Science at the Sorbonne. He founded and edited the magazine Día Siete and acts as an analyst on the radio, television and in the print media, with his Sunday column appearing in twenty national newspapers. El País publishes his column 'On second thoughts' in its American edition each Thursday. He was the founding editor of the newspapers Siglo 21 and Público de Guadalajara end editor of El Universal. He directs Sinembargo.mx. The author and co-author of a half a dozen books on analysis, including: Los amos de México (The Masters of Mexico, Planeta, 2007) and Los suspirantes (, The Sighers, Planeta, 2012). His last published novel was Los corruptores (The Corruptors, Destino, 2013) which was a national success and was shortlisted for the Dashiell Hammet Prize.
