Pepita the Seedling
Gracia Iglesias has wings, although you may not be able to see them: they're imaginary wings. She uses them to fly far away, like Pepita the Seedling, and to have adventures which she transforms into stories and poems. She has written a lot of books this way. Some of them have been translated into other languages like English, Chinese or Korean and others have won prizes. When she's not writing you'll find her telling stories as she is also a storyteller. She loves cats, collects cows and she likes to think this book might help you find your own wings.
David Sierra Listón's need to draw is as great as Pepita's need to fly. And, like her, he would become ill if he wasn't allowed to run wild with his colours. Fortunately, his family have always been supportive, even when, as a child, he painted a landscape in their hallway using shoe polish. Years later he went on to study illustration at Escuela Arte 10 in Madrid and since then his work has focused on the children's and young adult markets. Although he no longer paints walls, David is still something of a child and he sometimes still feels like he's floating off his seat with excitement when he illustrates books as entertaining as this one.
