Mario Muchnik

Mario Muchnik (Buenos Aires, 1931) graduated in Physics from Columbia University in New York in 1953, and doctored in Physics from the Universitá degli Studi in Rome in 1957. In 1966 he abandoned physics in order to enter the publishing world. In 1968 he began working for Robert Laffont in Paris, and in 1973 he founded Muchnik Editores in Barcelona with his father Jacobo Muchnik, a company known today as El Aleph. Mario Muchnik is  an experienced editor of notable prestige who has always placed a higher value on culture than on economic factors in any publishing venture. After losing Muchnik Editores, Muchnik worked at Anaya, eventually founding his own independent company, Del Taller de Mario Muchnik.
