The arrival of a new brother or sister rouses the curiosity of the heroine of One More, a story for early readers with a three-level repetitive structure: the reiteration of the ways the little rabbit speaks to his mother to find out when the big event will happen; to other to residents of the forest to announce the good news and his insistent question; and to imagine the games they will play after the birth. Loving feelings, solidarity, joy, excitement, and a final surprise are some of the elements in this story, captured in the clear outlines and schematic irregular lines of the illustrations in soft water colour tones on a white background. There is a clear contrast between full-colour scenes and others in black and white that show the dreams and desires of a child preparing to become an older brother.
