Claudia - a journalist, born in Ovieda but brought up in Argetina from an early age - returns to Spain to start a new life. She settles in Madrid and begins to work in the Unicorn bar, where she meets Edgar, a an upper class Mexican man who is also escaping from a tumultuous past. Like the fictitious being that lives in our imagination and desires, the hero and heroi ne of this novel live in the same duality, on the road between what they want to be and what they really are. The meeting with the unicorn is a chance, no lesss wonderful for being unexpected, to find themselves. A truely contemporary novel, in which it is easy to identify with the characters, their daily struggle and their desire to close a past which is sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes unlucky.
The mastery of language, the fluidity of the text and the structure of the novel draw the reader in.
