Rebecca looks at the new lights in her garden; her divorce and unexpected move are far behind her. She now knows (something she suspected before) that from now on she must learn what it means to be a woman without clear rules that define her.
A new life is emerging now where she can regain and renew a sense of astonishment: organize a way forward without the ties of mother and wife. She must dust off old projects and start new ones, at a certain distance from convention and without making detailed calculations of what is politically correct.
Family is without doubt a fragile institution where hierarchies are not always respected and its members do not always respond to expected patterns - as she will see when her childrens' plans start to take shape.
