Carmen Gurruchaga is a graduate of Information Science, and began her professional life in San Sebastián, working for the newspaper Diario Unidad, and later for Diario 16.
In 1989 she was involved in the establishment of the newspaper El Mundo. With expert knowledge of ETA’s terrorism, she has been very combative towards the group through the media, and on the 22 December 1997, her home was the target of an attempted explosives attack.
Pacheco is a Spanish publicist and writer of children's and young peoples literature. She was born in Almeria in 1980 and graduated in Publicity and public Relations from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Since then she has lived in the city, working as a copywriter at an agency. As a writer she has won the the Everest prize in 2007 with "Misterioso Asesinato en Oz", and in the following year she was a finalist in the Barco de Vapor prize with "Tres veces la mujer de gris".
