Elsa Punset graduated in Philosophy and Literature and has a Masters degree in Humanities from the University of Oxford.
Elvira LIndo studied journalism and was a presenter on Radio Nacional España. She has been a scriptwriter for Cadena SER and various television programmes. It was in these scripts that the characer of Manolito Gafotas first appeared, who since the first book of the series was published in 1994 has enjoyed huge success.
Elvira Menéndez was born in Ferrol in 1949. In terms of literature she has built up a wide range of work as a screenwriter for many significant Spanish media and has adapted plays for the stage, but she is best known as a writer for children and young people. Over her career she has written thirty-one books, all published by the best publishers in the sector, which means one can confidently claim that more than a generation has grown up reading her adventures. El corazón del océano is her first book for adults.
Emili Teixidor was born in 1933. After studying law, philosophy and arts, and journalism, he spent several years teaching. He is the author of an extensive and highly varied oeuvre, most of it translated into many languages and having won many prizes. 'Pa negre' was awarded the M. Ángels Anglada prize, the 'Lletra d'Or, the Joan Crexells and the National prize for Culture and Literature.
